  2. Hello Ross. Thank you for taking the time to comment; I am encouraged (albeit 10 months late!) The issue of global climate change and the church’s response to it was first addressed in a workshop at Holy Trinity Cathedral in August 2006 and has been discussed several times in Synod and in parish groups. The Diocesan Climate Change Action Group has employed a field worker for 4 years who has visited and advised 10 or more parishes on sustainable living practices (see her reports elsewhere on this website). We now have another field worker to carry on this work. Yet I am unsure how much traction we have with Anglicans or others. Perhaps you could join us? Dr. Richard Milne, recently also of St. Matthew in the City.

  3. It is wonderful to discover that your group exists. I am part of a Climate Action group in Motueka, South Island, focused on soil based solutions such as the use of biochar. We have called ourselves NZ Biochar Solutions and are in the process of setting up an incorporated society so we can apply for funding to establish infrastructure so we can make and process biochar on a big scale. We are also doing educational work to raise awareness about the seriousness of climate change and the solutions that do exist. These solutions of course would need to be employed on a massive scale, and many more people world-wide need to wake up. We are not religious, but willing to join with anyone working on the same kaupapa. You can contact our group via me by email katselig@xtra.co.nz or phone 021 1590263 Landline 03 5280194
